Our history
aioneer's roots in supply chain management go back to 1996: Christoph designed the first hierarchical planning system in the semiconductor industry together with i2 Technologies, and Boris wrote his PhD thesis in supply chain management at Darmstadt Technical University. Together with Hartmut Stadtler, we published five editions of the book Supply Chain Management and Advanced Planning in the years 2001-2015.
Until 2019, Christoph, Boris and Tobias worked at EY Consulting in the Supply Chain & Operations Practice, focusing on supply chain strategies, target operating models, S&OP transformations and data-driven supply chain analysis and issue identification.
In 2020 we founded aioneers with the aim of enabling AI- and data-driven supply chain optimization. In 2021, Alessandra joined as CFO, contributing to the company's growth and sustainability. The company name reflects our conviction that AI will augment and automate decision-making processes in supply chains. aioneers' mission is to pioneer the use of AI in supply chains.
We have consistently pursued the idea of AI- and data-driven supply chain optimization ever since. In 2021, we launched the AI-based AIO platform, initially with three modules: an AI-based supply chain control tower, a machine-learning based forecast engine, and Impact, an AI-based execution management system. In 2022, we were recognized by Gartner as a Cool Vendor for Supply Chain Management. In 2023 and 2025, Gartner included aioneers in its Market Guide for Analytics and Decision Intelligence Platforms in Supply Chain. Nucleus Research included AIO in the Control Tower Technology Value Matrix 2024.
